School Electrical Containment Upgrade

Following the removal of a suspended grid ceiling at a school, existing cabling was left exposed and unsupported within the corridor void. Scammell Electrical Solutions was brought in to provide a permanent containment solution that would safely support and organise the different cable systems.

The challenge
With the original ceiling grid removed, cables previously supported within the void were left hanging and, in some areas, dropping down towards floor level. A new containment route was needed to restore support, improve organisation and maintain separation between different electrical systems.
Our solution
We installed a new segregated containment system throughout the affected areas. The system was arranged into three dedicated routes for power cabling, data cabling and fire-alarm cabling. The containment was fixed securely along the corridor routes and adapted around doorways, corners and existing building features.

The result
The completed containment installation provided a structured, supported and clearly separated route for the existing services following removal of the suspended ceiling. The result was a cleaner, more maintainable installation with the different cable systems organised into dedicated containment routes.
