Scammell Electrical Solutions completed a residential Hypervolt EV charger installation at a property in Laindon, Basildon. The works included a new dedicated supply for the charger, surface-mounted conduit for a clean and robust cable route, bi-directional RCBO protection and CT monitoring from the meter to the EV charger. Once the electrical installation was complete, the Hypervolt unit was configured and commissioned through the Hypervolt app, with operation and monitoring checked before handover to the homeowner.

The brief
The homeowner required a dedicated EV charging point at their property in Laindon, Basildon, with a practical and tidy installation suitable for everyday use.
The installation
We installed a new dedicated supply for the EV charger. Surface-mounted conduit was used to create a clean and robust cable route between the existing electrical installation and the charging point. A bi-directional RCBO was installed to provide dedicated circuit protection for the new EV charging supply.

Load monitoring and commissioning
A CT clamp was installed at the meter and connected back to the Hypervolt charger so the system can monitor the property's electrical demand and manage charging load accordingly. With the electrical installation complete, the charger was configured and commissioned through the Hypervolt app, and operation, communication and monitoring were checked before the system was made ready for use.
The result
The completed installation was demonstrated to the homeowner, including the charger controls and app functionality, before final handover. The customer was left with a neat, fully commissioned residential EV charging installation with dedicated circuit protection, load monitoring and smart app control.
